BOOTS AND BEARDS
Boots and Beards is a community-driven organisation based in the south side of Glasgow, dedicated to promoting physical activity, outdoor engagement, and community well-being, particularly among ethnic minority communities. It was established to address the barriers many underrepresented groups face in accessing outdoor activities and provides structured programmes that encourage healthier, more active lifestyles.
We support young people, women, and families through initiatives such as hill walking, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, badminton coaching, arts programmes, carers' support group, etc.
Our focus is on breaking cultural stigmas, improving mental and physical health, and making outdoor spaces more inclusive. Our aim is to provide accessible outdoor activities that build confidence and well-being, create social connections to reduce isolation and strengthen community bonds, and empower young people with life skills, leadership training, and outdoor education.
Through partnerships with local organisations, we continue to expand our reach, ensuring that people from all backgrounds can take part in and benefit from a healthier, more active lifestyle.
